RRB ALP Recruitment 2024: Important Details
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) announced the recruitment for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) position through the CEN 01/2024 notification. The application process for this recruitment started on January 20, 2024, and ended on February 19, 2024. CEN 01/2024 listed 5,696 vacancies for the Assistant Loco Pilot position, However, the number of vacancies later increased from 5,696 to 18,799
The ALP CBT-1 exam was conducted from November 25 to 29, 2024, and the provisional answer key was made available on December 5, 2024.

The initial pay for this position is ₹19,900, which is in Level 02 of the 7th Pay Commission. The recruitment process for the Assistant Loco Pilot position is conducted in several stages. It begins with the CBT-1 (Computer-Based Test), which is the first stage of the exam. Candidates who pass the CBT-1 move on to the CBT-II (Second Stage of the Computer-Based Test). Candidates who will qualify the above stages have to clear CBAT (Computer-Based Aptitude Test), followed by Document Verification (DV) and a Medical Examination (ME).(for Complete details please refer official Notification)

As per the notification released by RRB on 18 February 2025, The result of RRB ALP (Assistant Loco Pilot) for the 1st Stage CBT is under finalisation and list of candidates
shortlisted for 2nd Stage CBT will be announced shortly. Once the results are announced, candidates can check them on the official RRB website.
RRB ALP CBT-II Tentative Exam Date
On February 18, 2025, the RRB released a notification announcing the exam date for the RRB ALP 2nd Stage CBT. Candidates can check the tentative exam date on the official website of RRB. The exam city and date will be available to view 10 days prior to the exam, and the e-call letter can be downloaded 4 days before the exam date from the official RRB website.
